Joy + Soul is a vocalist, poet, songwriter, and producer from Houston, TX whose music has touched millions worldwide. Since releasing her independent debut album, The Joy + Soul Experience (2023), she has amassed over 10M streams, with 75K monthly listeners and 300K monthly streams. Her viral anthem, “I Call My Power Back,” became a global mantra for empowerment was translated into Spanish and adapted into meditation versions.
Her sophomore album, Finding Joy in the Journey (2024), introduces Screwfirmation™, a fusion of chopped-and-screwed beats, affirmations, and soul-stirring lyrics inspired by her Houston roots. The project blends hip-hop energy with healing intention for a transformative listening experience.
Beyond music, Joy is the CEO of Joy Williams Enterprises, a multi-faceted creative company that unites the music, wellness, and beauty industries to empower communities and support creatives. Prior to becoming a music artist, Joy + Soul enjoyed a 20 year career as a licensed cosmetologist and International Hair Texture Educator. Joy was a 3x Miss USA Lead Hairstylist, a 2019 Miss Universe Stylist and the first Black Woman On-Air Personality on HSN for CHI Haircare. Joy is also the founder of Worthy, an all-natural body and skincare line infused with sound therapy, and leads the Joy Soul Wellness Foundation, which provides mental health resources and holistic education to marginalized communities.
